While we await funding to get started on the main project, we’re trying to keep the area in front of and behind The Phoenix Centre reasonably trim and tidy.

Events

Saturday 29th March 2025

Work has been going full steam ahead, with group members and volunteers weeding the meditation garden and building a composting area.

Gardening team members Jan and NataIie collected a generous selection of plants, donated by Tesco at Transit Way.

They were transported to the Meditation Garden behind St. Francis Church, where they be stored temporarily until we’ve decided where they belong.

and on Saturday 13th July we had beans, tomatoes and potatoes showing healthy growth!

In October 2024, several volunteers started work on the meditation/sensory garden at the rear of St. Francis of Assisi Church on Little Dock Lane, the other component of the Honicknowle Community Gardens Garden. They were busy clearing the site while we think about the design stage.
